Miles, Zimmer & Associates

Morné was born in South Africa, graduated from high school in 1994 and thereafter attended the University of the Free State in Bloemfontein, where he studied law full time.
After completing his articles with Canadian Pacific’s in-house legal department, Ron Miles moved to the East Kootenays and has been practicing law in Cranbrook since. Ron maintains a general practice, and over the years has established a very busy family law practice.
Prior to beginning his legal career, Jamie founded and operated a hardwood flooring company in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta. After completing his articles with Miles, Zimmer & Associates, Jamie joined the firm as a partner. Jamie has a general practice that includes both litigation and solicitor work. He has successfully represented clients in all levels of court in British Columbia, including the Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal.
Kobus practiced law in Cape Town, South Africa for about 7 years before joining the banking sector, where he first worked as a Legal Advisor, and later specialized in bank risk and compliance. He immigrated to Canada in 2009 together with his wife, who is a medical practitioner, and his daughter, Lara. Kobus enjoys making a positive difference in the lives of his clients and he looks forward to meeting you and assisting you with your legal needs.
Before attending Law School, Ariane worked for her family’s Construction Company, Ed Brunet and Associates, gaining valuable experience in the construction Industry. After completing her Civil Law degree (LL.L) and her Juris Doctor, Ariane articled for a well-respected law firm in Calgary specializing in construction litigation and real estate. She continued working at the same firm after her call to the Alberta Bar until the fall of 2016, when she moved to Kimberley, B.C., and joined the Miles, Zimmer & Associate’s team.
